Weekly Update for Dulwich Wood Ward |
||
Good afternoon Dulwich Wood residents,
Please see below for our weekly ward updates:
Dulwich Wood has been very busy this week working alongside our Dulwich Village colleagues over the two wards. This has included multiple arrest enquiries on both wards where we are targeting prolific offenders who live and operate within the wards.
The team have also been conducting various welfare visits for victims of crime over the ward. This ensures that victims of crime are supported and assisting the investigation with any additional information that may be attained by the local policing team.
We have had two street briefings this week where residents are able to speak about their local issues and concerns directly to the team. All upcoming events will be publicised on MET ENGAGE offering residents various opportunities to discuss anything with us. We held these street briefings at Glazebrook Close and Sydenham Hill, but locations will vary each week.
Throughout a busy schedule the team have ensured that High Visibility Patrols have been implemented around the Kingsdale Foundation School during dismissal times. This is to reassure school students, deter any potential robberies and enables us to deal with any parking or traffic issues that may arise during school pick up times.
In other news, one of our designated ward officers, PC Francesca WAKE 3094AS has just returned from a training course that had taken her off ward duties for a week. We are pleased to announce that she is now a Licensed Search Officer after passing all required exams. This means she will now be assisting various units across the Metropolitan Police Service. With PC WAKE now having this knowledge, specialist techniques can be implemented on our local weapon sweeps within the ward.
Crime statistics for this week: -We have seen an increase in parcels being stolen outside residential properties. Please ensure that if you’re not available for a delivery, that you either re-arrange or ensure that someone collects your parcel for you. Opportunists will see a parcel left outside your property and steal this. Luckily, on some reports there has been video doorbell footage of the suspects. We are now assisting our Response Team colleagues with the investigations and identifying the suspects involved. -We are aware of two incidents of pedal cycle thefts on College Road and are now assisting our detective colleagues with their investigation. We have increased our patrols on College road to deter and apprehend any suspects. -Please make sure your vehicle is always locked as we have had reports of suspects rummaging through vehicles and trying to open car doors. Any vehicles that they find unlocked are then entered to see if any valuable items can be taken.
Next week we have our quarterly ward panel meeting. This is on Wednesday 23rd July at 7pm at the Sydenham Hill TRA hall, accessed via Lapse Wood Walk. Anyone on the ward is welcome to attend this open meeting with all ward residents. We will also be increasing our patrols around Kingsdale Foundation School next week as it’s the last week before the summer holidays. Usually end of term dismissals, there is an increase of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) around Southwark borough and therefore we will be ensuring that any incidents are dealt with swiftly.
If you have any concerns within your area, please let us know so we can assist.
Kindest regards,
Dulwich Wood Safer-Neighbourhood Team | ||
